Case study: creation of an online sports directory in Villefranche-sur-Saône

Presentation of the project

L’Villefranche-sur-Saône Sports Office (OSV) is an association founded in 1968, bringing together and federating the sports clubs and associations in the commune and the surrounding area. Its main aim is to inform the public about the local sports on offer and to facilitate access to sporting activities for all.

As part of a drive to modernise and digitise, the OSV wanted to replace its paper catalogue of sports associations by a dynamic and intuitive website enabling :

• Identify and structure all clubs by sport category.
• Provide detailed information sheets for each association (contacts, disciplines, timetables, etc.).
• Making it easier for residents to find sporting activities.

Main challenge: modernise communication and links between residents and sports clubs, while simplifying information management.

Challenges encountered

Centralising and structuring data

The OSV had a large volume of information on sports clubs (contact details, disciplines, timetables, etc.), often scattered across different media and updated manually.

Optimised user experience

We had to design an interface intuitive and accessible to allow visitors to find a sport or association easily depending on their age, their specific needs (accommodation for senior citizens, people with disabilities, etc.) and their location.

Autonomous and easy to update

The OSV team had to be able to update information without advanced technical skills, to ensure the sustainability of the project and the accuracy of the data.

• Integration of meta and description tags to improve visibility on Google.
• Website responsive (adapted for mobiles and tablets) for optimal viewing on all screens.
